Ain't he sweet?!

Here is the Mother Bear Project bear I made!! I think he's lovely. I plan on making several more before I ship them off. I think I'm going to stuff the next one more so he will be fatter. He was so much fun to knit too. Posted by Hello

Mr. Crab

This is a crab I cross-stitched on the purse. I have to brag on it. My boyfriend even thought it was cool, he told me I should keep it and not sell it. hehe. Posted by Hello

Check out this purse I just made!! I'm making purses that I plan on selling. I put this purse up for sale on a new website called http://www.etsy.com . It sells anything handmade, but its all hip young stuff. Check out the other thing for sale there, or post something you want to sale yourself. The best part is it is cheaper than eBay to post something, and FREE until the end of July.

Mr. Bear

Here is my bear so far, he needs some more stuffing and seaming. But I should be done with hime tonight. This was actually a really fast project. I knit a majority of the body while watching a couple of movies the first night. I will update with the finished product soon. **Knit Master H**Posted by Hello

Mother Bear Project

I just got the pattern for the Mother Bear Project in the mail! I'm so excited. The Mother Bear Project is a charity knitting project that "is dedicated to providing comfort and hope to children, primarily those infected or affected by HIV/AIDS in emerging nations." Check out their website: http://www.motherbearproject.org/index.html Make sure you check out the photos, when you see the kids with their bears, you will have to knit one. Looking at the pattern, it seems very easy. I can not wait to get started, I plan to as soon as I get off of work tonight. Also, I plan on talking Cyndi into making one too. Don't you think she should?

Also this weekend Cyndi visited again. Saturday we went to the local knitting store LUFF, it is such a fun place. Cyndi was buying some yarn with a birthday certificate, buying new yarn is so fun. I am sure she will post her choice, which I love and I can't wait to see what she makes with it. While we were there we chatted up the owner, she is awesome. She even showed us how to make the I-cord, which is something we didn't know. Its actually much easier than I expected. The 'i' apparently stands for idiot, which I did not know. Hehe. If you live in Norman, and haven't checked out Luff, do it.

What I've been up to lately...

This is a little pill holder I knitted to keep in my purse. I knitting it from a sweater that I unraveled. Then I did the embroidery with recycled yellow yarn. I did the embroidery on both sides. I am happy with the outcome, its perfect for keeping your birth control and some advil. I got the embroidery pattern from Interweave Knits magazine, which is freakin' awesome. Posted by Hello

I made this purse from the body of a knitted sweater I picked up at the thrift store, then I felted it. I haven't made a strap for it yet, I'm not totally sure how I want it. What do you think of the beaded embellishing? Posted by Hello

I finally finished my FUNKY RUG!!! Hells Yeah!! I love the way it came out. Cyndi calls it the Frankenstein rug, which is a good description. It actually looks quite cute in my living room. I feel it really "pulls the room together". Posted by Hello

Having a little knitting time. It was Cyndi's Birthday was last weekend, so she was a-visitin'. I am finishing up my rug here, and Cyndi is making a hat to pass the time.

The Stoly-Shrugamaroo!

This is me acting like a goober over my new 'stoly-shrugamaroo'. I don't know what it is, but I finally finished it. I started knitting this as a shawl during the spring semester, but found out that I didn't have enough of the yarn. So, I decided to twist the fabric and sew it together. I must say the twist was not my idea. I got it from one of Heather's nifty mag.'s. It was...Interweave maybe? Anyway this 'shrugamaroo' was made from the sleeves of the ugly thrift store sweater I bought. It has been officially cutified! Oh yeah, I know I'm a 'dorkamaroo'. heehee. Posted by Hello

Look Who Learned to KNIT!!

My siblings Kasey (almost 11) and Evan (7) wanted to learn to knit. I just returned from visiting my family in Houston. My boyfriend Chris and I had a really nice visit. Evan even asked Chris why he doesn't knit, hehe. They are so cute!! Right before we left we made up knitting names for them. Kasey is 'Knit Novice K'. Evan is 'Knit O' Matic 7000'. Posted by Hello

Knit Novice K

Here's a picture of my attempt to give knitting lessons to my sister. It was great when she finally got it. I found that it can be fustrating for kids to learn to knit. Once they got it they were really excited and proud, so that was awesome! Posted by Hello

My brother Evan caught on really fast, which I found impressive. I overheard him informing one of Kasey's friends that "men knit". I was very proud of him, as I had explained that many men are learning to knit earlier that day. Posted by Hello

Here they are crazing it up for knitting. At this point they both knew what they were doing and felt the need to goof it up. Which I always appreciate. Rock on Kasey and Evan Posted by Hello

Knit O' Matic 7000
