What I've been up to lately!

Okay, so as if I didn't have enough hobbies now I'm obessed with crewel embroidery!! I made this bag out of recycled khakis that didn't fit me. I embroidered this awesome bird out of a vintage crewel embroidery book from 1974!! I did the whole think Saturday night while hanging with my sick boyfriend. Posted by Picasa

Here is a close up of my handiwork. I'm not an expert, but I'm very happy with the results. Simple can be cool! Posted by Picasa

This bag I actually made out of a really soft tank top from the thrift store. (okay too itchy to wear). I just turned it sideways and sewed up the bottom. Do you like the detail. I was pretty random with it. How much do you think someone would pay for this?? Posted by Picasa

How'd you get so into -peno?

When I got home from class today I discovered 6(!) little jalapenos on my plant!! I'm such a dork, I called Chris immediately!! I am so spaztically excited because I doubted anything would grow on my puny plant. It was the only one that didn't really flourish like the others. HECK YES!! Posted by Picasa

Ahhhhh! My cherry tomato plant rocks my face off!

So you are probably wondering.... Is this girl somebodies grandma? Yeah, I admit, I knit, sew, embroider, obsess about my plants, and my cat..... I swear I'm totally normal otherwise!

flamingo are freakin' awesome!

I just think this is a cool picture. It is my mint plant in front of my apartment. My friend Taurus gave me these cute little flamingo party toothpick thingys for my plants. I think they are so neat. Alright that's all.....

OoOo I feel so cool!

I was recently contacted by Nicola (check out http://www.acornstudios.ca/resources/ ). She is a recycling artist located in Canada. She liked my neck tie wallet design and wanted to feature it on her webpage. Her site is so professional and nicely done. She just added a section of recycled items done by different people. There is a really cute neck tie purse and a t-shirt purse. Definately check it out, she has awesome holiday cards.

Also good news, I've been contacted by an owner of a shop in Michigan, who is wanting to sell my neck tie wallets also. I was very excited about this, it totally made my day.

I apologize for the lack of knitting content, I've been on a sewing kick lately!

Mini-Sweater

Well this is my big summer project. I've been a bit busy so it is taking me awhile. Soon it will be my new mini sweater. Hurray. I got the pattern from k.1 spring/summer. The pattern called for fun fur on the collar, but I'm not a big fan of fun fur so I'll leave it off. I can't wait till I finish! Where I work is soo coold.
