UNraveling PARTY!!

TAH-DAH!! Each ball is from just one sleeve of the sweater. I will follow up with what I can get from the body of the sweater. So now all we have to do is figure out what to knit! Cyndi and I had so much fun doing this, we're hooked! This is such a fun, cheap way to get yarn! If you are interested in this check out the neaveau link I posted below. She shows you the specific type of seam to look for. Posted by Hello

Okay so during our unraveling party we only made it through the sleeves. Check out Cyndi in her (now sleeveless) sweater poncho! Posted by Hello

Close up to fully appreciate our sweaters. I hope you are appreciating... Posted by Hello

On Friday Cyndi and I had a scarf unraveling party. We had each bought a scarf at the Goodwill. They were on sale for like $3. Cyndi's is on the left and mine is on the right. Okay I know that mine was pretty cute to start out with. But I like the thick yellow yarn so I had to destroy it! HAHA! Posted by Hello

Look at this really cute purse Cyndi made! She crocheted it in 3 days. I love the use of the chain and clasp. And if you look closely you will notice she ran some blue yarn through the chain. And as always she just made up the pattern with her fabulous skills. The usage of the chain and clasp was inspired by a Berroco website. I think she said she only spent $3 on the chain and clasp. Cyndi creates her designs by first drawing what she wants the finished project to look like (she has a little book) and then estimates how many to cast-on etc. Isn't that fun? Also, notice my Frida in the picture. She is checking out the purse for quality. Posted by Hello

Hip Hip Hooray!

Also I recieved my first issue of Interweave Knits! My mom got me a subscription for Christmas. It has a great part on recycling yarn, and using t-shirts and other cut up fabrics in knitting. Check this site out if you are interested. http://www.neauveau.com/recycledyarn.html . I can't wait to start something from this magazine. Posted by Hello

Dishclothes Galore

I've been so busy with school I haven't had very much time to knit. Over spring break I went on a washcloth knitting spree. They are fast and fun to knit. The top two I have already started using, and they are just stretched out from hanging funny. When washed and dryed they will go back to normal shape. I got the pattern from this website: http://www.suanknits.com/knitpatt.html The yarn I used is 100% cotton, called Sugar n Creme. They have alot of fun color options and I was in a multicolor mood, so I got a variety. Each skein is enough for 2 dishcloths and is a little over a dollar, so excellent for a quick knit.Posted by Hello
