O Christmas Tree

I absolutely love getting the Christmas tree out and decorating. I just bought one last year and Sunday I pulled it out and put on my decorations. Oh and it was all kinds of fun. I felt like such a grown-up, haha. I don't have a ton of decorations, but I really like the ones I have. Mostly they are these silver bells that my Grammie gets me every year (i'm so classy). I haven't decided what I'm going to put on top. Any ideas for a crafty tree top?

Also I finally got a new cell phone after having the same one fore 4 1/2 years. That's right, it was huge! I'm super excited about my new one but I knew I couldn't just throw away my old one so... I made a Christmas decoration out of it!! Hahaha, my boyfriend made fun of me but I reminded him, I've had that cell phone longer than I've had him. Check it out:

In case you can't tell it says 'RIP 2001-2005'. Also it has red cequins on the sides too, for a little christmas tree flair.

After I finished this I didn't know if I liked it on me. And even though I love the yarn, it's so ichy! It's been a few days and its starting to grow on me. I think I'll just have to scratch occationally and wear more green. Posted by Picasa

I don't have any close ups with Daryle in the hat I made him yet. This is it Daryle, me, and my mom's thumb. :) Posted by Picasa

Hurray it's Winter!

In general I hate Winter. I don't want to get out of bed in the morning, because I know it's freezing outside of my warm bed. But I've got to admit it gives me have plenty of reasons to knit. I am a bit of a hat freek. I have one in almost every color. Over the past couple of weeks I've made two more. The one I made for me is a purple and yellow-green sailor style beanie made out of fun yarn I got from S.W.A.K. The brand is Sisik. The yarn kind of looks like a bunch of different colors of lint were woven together. (Wierd looking yarn that I just happen to love.) The second I made for my boyfriend who didn't even own a winter hat! Sacrilege! I made it from bluish merino wool. I'll try to put some pictures up soon.

Coming attraction....
Lumpy the one eared elephant!

I've been making all kinds of felted flower brooches lately. I've sold a bunch of them in my etsy shop. Since I've been making so many, I can wear different ones with different jackets and whatnot. They are really fun to make. And now I'm obsessed with old buttons. I never really paid any attention to them before, but they are so cool.

Here are some pictures of a few of them. I'm using scraps from felted sweaters (I usually make purses out of them first). And I adorn them with all kinds of randomness I have around.

Etsy Item of the Week

Okay, I know I haven't really been doing this weekly. Just pretend like I am...

Here is a wrist warmer by www.mellowbeing.etsy.com . She sells these in pairs and they are very cute. I noticed she added a few on recently that have more hand coverage (below) also very cute.

I found out about her lovely little shop when she purchased an item from my etsy shop. We swap shop ideas back in forth (it was my idea for her to hand model, hehe). Visit her shop!
